What Everyone Ought To Know About Getting Six Pack Abs

Ask yourself, what do top models and movie stars all seem to have in common?

You most likely guessed the correct answer – flat, six pack abs. In our society, a flat midsection is the  epitome of health and fitness. The more defined the abs, the more that person is generally considered to be in good shape.  This most likely has to do with the fact that the abs are the last place to burn body fat.  So seeing someone with really defined abs leaves you to believe that they are in great shape all around. The oddest thing is that if you were to go into any gym, it would be safe to say that less than 6% of the people there actually have a defined six pack.

The challenge lies from the fact that people have a misunderstanding of what it takes to achieve this awesome look.

Will Working the Core Muscles Give You Great Abs?

The buzz these days seem to be a large focus on performing core strengthening exercises. Trainers are having their clients doing all sorts of crazy exercises on balance balls.  Their thinking is that using these balls will supposedly force your core to stabilize, which make those muscles stronger. Focusing on the core muscles supposedly tones the abs to achieve a six pack abs. It’s not uncommon to see personal trainers setting aside almost half of the client’s time, during each session, working on the core. The funny thing is that these individuals blindly do this every week without fail and unfortunately none of them are any closer to having six pack abs.

Can Thousands of Crunches Finally Give You Those Flat Washboard Abs?

Another school of thought is to work abs hard every day. There are literally hundreds of exercises that you can do to focus on your abs. Most people stick to the traditional situp and/or crunch. Many have decided to use machines to assist on their journey for ripped abs. A common recommendation is to work the abs each day or at least once every other day. Some tell you to use high reps and no weight or heavy weight like every other muscle. I see tons of people do this week in and week out and guess what…very few of those people have six pack abs!

How I Got My Six Pack

I hardly ever directly work my midsection, however my abs look better than ever before. In order to get those abs showing, you need to focus more on reducing your body fat percentage and less on working your abs. The truth is that we all have nice 6 packs.  The only thing stopping ours from showing is the layers of fat sitting on top of them.

I promise that if you focus on getting your body fat below 10%, you will have those ripped abs to show off to the world in no time. Increase the amount of cardio and less on the ab workouts.

Do you really want those Hard Abs? Go run on the treadmill or spend more time on the elliptical. Seriously, its the only way you will ever see those abs.
