What are an individual’s special needs during recovery from back surgery?

My friend wil be undergoing back surgery soon. He has asked me to help him during his recovery. What should I expect?

well i have had 31 surgerys but no back but just help him to feel comfortable,help get him stuff,chill together,bring him a sirpise for when her comes out full off stuff he can do
