If you are planning to take part in a figure competition you need to stand out from the rest of the figure athletes. You have worked long to develop your physique to take it to the stage in as a figure competitor. Your goal is to catch the eyes of the panel of judges so they can choose you as the winner.
The factor that’s going to help determine your win is your stage presence. Your winning stage presence is a blend of confidence, assuredness, and grace, skin tone, posing suit style, muscle development and definition.
A vital part to a winning stage presence in a figure contest is to look at ease and appear confident. Now don’t get me wrong this is easier said than done, so it will take practice. To have good practice skills, begin your figure posing at least 3 months before your figure competition.
Practice the front pose, side poses, and back pose. As you carry out your figure posing, hold your poses for as long as conceivable, working up to holding each pose for over 60 seconds. Performing your figure posing will assist to stop any trembling on stage when you go through your poses, and it builds your posing stability to prevent getting worn out too soon while on stage.
While you practice holding your poses, be sure to practice making the posing appear simple. You don’t want to look suspenseful on stage. While all your muscles are indeed flexed, you need to also look relaxed, and a terrific way to make you seem relaxed is to smile. Also, make sure you breathe normally when posing. Don’t get into the habit of holding your breath when figure posing.
In a figure contest the judges will be comparing you with the other figure athletes. Therefore, it is essential to always be in a flexed position on stage. Even the simplest relaxed pose is still a strong flexed pose.
To go into a figure pose start your pose by posing your lower body first. This will ensure that don’t forget to pose them. As you flex your legs bring the rest of your body into a pose, making it look easy and natural. Keep your wrists and fingers loosely in a relaxed position.
You will need to practice your figure posing with and without a mirror. You not only need to see what your figure posing looks like, in the mirror, but also you need to be able to feel your posing (without a mirror). Make sure you practice posing in your 4-5 inch figure competition shoes. You will need to make walking in them appear natural.
When performing your back pose take that time to relax the muscle groups the panel of judges can’t see such as your abdomen and even your smile. Yes, it’s tough to keep holding a smile on stage standing beneath those hot stage lights in a posing suit.
As you walk in your figure heels hold your head up high, shoulders back, chest out, abs in and glide across the stage with confidence. Walking on stage in this manner will entirely set you apart from the figure athletes. Those who don’t practice walking in their figure competition shoes will show.
Even though this is a lot of data to try to remember for your figure competition, you will remember all of it if you practice.
